Former Trump Plaza casino demolished after falling into disrepair

The Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City was demolished on February 17, 2021, ending a nearly 40-year run on the shores of the US state of New Jersey. Former US President Donald Trump opened the casino in 1984 when he was a real estate developer but had lost control of the property in a 2009 bankruptcy. The building had fallen into disrepair since it closed in 2014, so city officials decided to bring it down.
