Sex educators and members of the public in Hong Kong say the city’s new sex education teaching materials blame victims and are out of touch with society. The new sex education curriculum for Form One to Form Three students includes advice about avoiding premarital sex by playing badminton to curb sexual impulses. Young people are also urged to refrain from premarital sex and to “avoid visual stimulation from sexy clothing”. The Education Bureau has defended itself by saying underage students must be protected, but controversy about the new initiative remains. The Post hit the streets to ask young people what they think of the new initiative.
