Hundreds of people dressed in Christmas-themed costumes joined the 2024 “Santa Run” in Hong Kong. The participants started their 6km (4 miles) route at Central Ferry Pier No 3. They were required to do a 10-minute group workout at three stops. Some runners said they enjoyed the festive atmosphere while exercising. Hong Kong has seen a surge in running clubs since the end of the Covid-19 pandemic when social-distancing measures were in force. Many say the growth of running clubs in recent years has opened doors to meeting new people and renewing their social networks.
