Hope fades for one of Hong Kong's last sawmills as eviction clock ticks

The eviction deadline for Hong Kong’s largest sawmill has passed, but the business still hopes for more time to prevent the waste of valuable wood. The timber processing operation that dated back to the city’s post-WWII era, was scheduled to be vacated on September 13, 2022, to make way for metropolitan development plans. They were granted an extension to use up stocks of materials, but could not manage to do the work in time.
