Hong Kong leader John Lee Ka-chiu says he will lead the city’s fight against a disinformation campaign orchestrated by the West by “making more friends”. In an interview with the Post to mark the second anniversary of his role as chief executive, Lee said he aims to reach out to a wider network of regions to promote the city’s opportunities. During the interview on June 26, 2024, he was also asked about ways Hong Kong could establish a firewall against further US sanctions imposed from abroad. Lee said his approach will focus on “building a strong team” to win over others to see Hong Kong’s advantages.
