Hong Kong’s security minister has cancelled the passports of wanted activist Nathan Law Kwun-chung and five other fugitives living in the UK. The unprecedented move used new powers granted by the city’s domestic national security law. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said on June 12, 2024, that Hong Kong's revocation of fugitive activists’ passports was a legitimate measure to safeguard national security.
