Former Hong Kong lawmaker Ted Hui Chi-fung has condemned his "arbitrary arrest" by the police. Hui and two other opposition lawmakers, Raymond Chan Chi-chuen and Eddie Chu Hoi-dick, were arrested earlier in the day on November 18, 2020, in relation to incidents in May and June when they tried to disrupt the passage of a national anthem bill. They are accused of using rotten plants and fertiliser to create a stink inside the Legislative Council chambers. All three were charged with attempting to use harmful substances with the intent to cause harm, mental injury or irritation to others. They were released on bail in the afternoon.
