Hong Kong opposition lawmakers threaten to resign en masse

Opposition lawmakers in the city’s Legislative Council have said that members of the pan-democrat bloc will “resign en masse” if Beijing decided to disqualify four of them for violating the city’s Basic Law.
Hong Kong’s Democratic Party chairman Wu Chi-wai, convenor of the bloc, and Dennis Kwok were some of the lawmakers who spoke to the press on November 9, 2020. The press event came ahead of a meeting of the National People’s Congress Standing Committee, with some media speculating that it was considering unseating some of the city's legislators for violating their oaths by disrupting the chamber.
