Jeremy Tam Man-ho is a former Hong Kong lawmaker who had previously worked as a pilot for 18 years. After serving four years in the city’s Legislative Council, he stepped down in 2020 as part of a mass resignation by opposition members protesting against the disqualification and removal of four other lawmakers.
Tam was among over 50 former opposition lawmakers and activists arrested on January 6, 2021 on suspicion of violating the National Security Law. Authorities accused them of joining in a plot to “overthrow” the government. Tam was released on bail the day after his arrest.
Since resigning from Legco, Tam is now serving the public in a different way, after opening a restaurant where he says he is leading by example by implementing policies he pushed while he was a lawmaker.
