Social distancing, half-day classes and daily rapid antigen tests as Hong Kong academic year opens

At the start of a new academic year in Hong Kong, secondary school students in Tin Hau expressed their excitement about the first day in class after many months of no face-to-face courses. Pupils at a primary school in Tsing Yi district grappled with strict health protection measures set out by the Education Bureau, including social distancing, small-group lunches for teachers and daily rapid antigen tests. For younger students, who are for now attending half day classes, the measures are a step towards resuming full-day, face-to-face lessons in the future.
