Hong Kong health chief says any hotel quarantine reduction will be based on Covid infection data

Hong Kong Secretary for Health Dr Lo Chung-mau said any reduction of hotel quarantine from people coming into the city will be based on Covid-19 infection data and whether case numbers go up or down. In an interview with the Post on July 12, 2022, Dr Lo said he is considering a range of options that would allow inbound travellers to split their required seven-day quarantine period between hotels and their homes, even eventually allowing all-home quarantines depending on the data. Dr Lo also said that a health code system under discussion for Hong Kong residents would not be a replica of the systems used by Macau and mainland China. He said the Hong Kong system would be adapted to the city's specific circumstances and requirements.
