The Hong Kong government announced an end to the mandatory hotel quarantine requirement for overseas arrivals on September 23, 2022. Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu said the policy decision was to “reconnect the city with the world” and to “reduce inconvenience”. Hong Kong has had one of the world’s toughest set of Covid-19 restrictions. But starting on September 26, arrivals will only be required to self-monitor for three days, in a plan called “0+3”.
