Australian Jockey Tye Angland remains in a serious but stable condition following surgery on Monday after being injured in a horror fall at Sha Tin on Sunday.
His wife Erin is by his side in the Prince of Wales Hospital after flying in from Sydney.
Angland suffered the injury when Go Beauty Go knuckled soon after the start of the ninth race, spearing him headfirst into the turf.
Medical staff attended to him immediately and they took all the necessary precautions, spending around 10 minutes to get him onto the stretcher and into the ambulance, before whisking him to the hospital.
The Jockey Club reported he was conscious and responding at the time.

His Australia-based manager Andrew Northridge provided an insight into the situation on Monday morning.
“More information regarding his injuries will be known in the coming days,” Northridge tweeted.

The Jockey Club revealed the operation was required after undergoing “further medical tests” on Sunday night.
Angland, who has tasted Group One success on 11 occasions in Australia, was competing at Sha Tin for a one-off meeting, helping the Jockey Club fill the riding ranks which were stretched through injury and suspension.
Angland spent four years in Hong Kong from 2010-14, notching 140 winners, the most recent one coming on Sunday when he piloted Follow Me to an easy victory for trainer John Size.
He had been booked to ride Ivictory in next month’s Group One Longines Hong Kong Sprint on December 9.
