Veteran Kasa Papa ran home a neck second over this track and trip in November before making ground without menacing once across each track. He does return to the level of a C&D win last year under today's rider Zac Purton and gate four should help. Super Sicario has produced mixed results from eight starts this term but did make all first up over the Valley 1,650m and was a speed-tracking third from gate 10 over this C&D in December. He's drawn okay in five and a big run wouldn't surprise. Dragon Sunrise has drawn widest out but should appreciate the step up to 1,800m after finishing nicely for third to Run Run Timing ridden for luck from gate 11 last start over the Valley 1,650m. Conspiracy Witness steps up to 1,800m but does seem to act best over this course, including a closing second off 46 from gate 11 in October and recent sixth from gate 12 following a downgrade. He should map much better from gate two.
KASA PAPA (G312) approaching the 1400M was steadied when crowded. Between the 450M and the 250M was held up for clear running. Approaching the 250M was steadied when it improved into a tight run. Rider stated that the intention was to hold a more forward position but after jumping only fairly and being bumped at the start his mount settled further back in the field than intended. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 339.
ON THE LASH (J182) near the 450M was bumped - Race 457.
CONSPIRACY WITNESS (J541) from the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages - Race 425.
HAILTOTHEVICTORS (J508) raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event - Race 457.
PERFECT PAIRING (J331) jumped only fairly. From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Over the final 50M was held up for clear running - Race 354.
ROSEWOOD FLEETFOOT (J524) shifted out shortly after the start and was bumped. Near the 300M was hampered when being shifted out to avoid a runner. Rider could offer no explanation for the horse's disappointing performance. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 229.
SUPER SICARIO (K306) after travelling a short distance shifted out and away from a runner, resulting in its rider having to correct his mount. For some distance near the 700M raced keenly and was steadied away from a runner. When questioned regarding his riding in the middle stages and as to whether there was an opportunity to hold his position to the outside of a runner, rider stated that his instructions were to go forward. He said when the early stages of the event were being run inside of standard time he elected to hold a trailing position behind that runner on the rail. He said near the 1000M as the pace of the event steadied his mount commenced to race keenly and as a result he was eased to avoid that runner which resulted in his mount shifting out and being positioned to the outside of that runner. He said as the early stages were run inside of standard time and his mount has a tendency to hang in, he repositioned his mount behind that runner to ensure it raced tractably and to provide it with the best opportunity to finish the race off in the Home Straight. He added after being briefly held up making the Home Turn his mount finished the race off in a one-paced manner. The Stewards advised rider that, in their opinion, he would have been better suited by holding his position to the outside of the leader, however, having regard to his explanation, they found the tactics he adopted were reasonable in the circumstances - Race 325.
SMILING EMPEROR (J371) was slow to begin. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion was bumped on the hindquarters - Race 425.
PERPETUAL POWER (J326) rider stated that his instructions were to hold a more forward position but when his mount jumped only fairly it settled further back in the field than intended. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 325.
DRAGON SUNRISE (J269) jumped awkwardly. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the winning post on the first occasion was steadied. Passing the 200M was shifted out to obtain clear running - Race 425.
CARRYON SMILING (J392) had its left hind plate refitted in the saddling stalls, was examined by the vet and passed suitable to race. Crowded for room approaching the winning post on the first occasion. For a short distance after passing the 300M was held up for clear running - Race 425.
SUPER HONG KONG (D241) bumped at the start. Near the 900M shifted out and made contact with a runner - Race 354.
SUPER HONG KONG (D241) 19/01/2026 Inappetence. (passed on 03/02/2026).
All Are Mine won his latest trial at Conghua and is having just his fourth run for Brett Crawford.
