Racing Incident Report
Race One : (367) - SHAN KWONG ROAD PARK HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1000Meters
Horse No 1 DAN ATTACK (H317) H Bowman Shortly after the start was bumped.
After the event, H Bowman stated that he was given no specific instructions.
He said in the early stages when caught wide he elected to continue forward to take up a position outside the lead to avoid covering additional ground.
He added that due to the wide barrier and having to make use of his mount to go forward the horse did not finish the race off in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 WOOD ON FIRE (C460) H T Mo Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
After the event, H T Mo reported that he was given no specific instructions but had expected to race in a more forward position.
He said WOOD ON FIRE failed to show sufficient pace to do so and as a result settled further back than intended.
Horse No 3 SPEEDY FORTUNE (H097) M F Poon Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 DAY DAY VICTORY (J423) L Hewitson Shifted out after the 600 Metres and was bumped.
Near the 250 Metres was eased and shifted to the outside of DAN ATTACK to obtain clear running.
Horse No 5 STRIVE FOR GLORY (D186) M L Yeung Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 6 TIMESTORM (G109) B Avdulla Near the 550 Metres was steadied to avoid GORGEOUS VITALITY.
Horse No 7 PLENTIFUL (G400) A Atzeni When being eased to allow SPEEDY FORTUNE to cross after the 600 Metres commenced to race keenly for some distance thereafter, shifted out and made contact with PHILOS.
Near the 100 Metres A Atzeni dropped his whip.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 GORGEOUS VITALITY (G051) L Ferraris Bumped at the start.
Leaving the 600 Metres was bumped and became unbalanced.
Near the 550 Metres was then steadied when crowded between STRIVE FOR GLORY which shifted in and away from DAN ATTACK and PHILOS which was taken out by PLENTIFUL.
After the event, L Ferraris reported that after being crowded leaving the 600 Metres GORGEOUS VITALITY lost momentum and did not finish the race off after that.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 10 PHILOS (H371) Y L Chung Slow to begin.
In the early stages raced keenly and leaving the 600 Metres lay out and made contact with GORGEOUS VITALITY.
A short distance later PHILOS was then crowded between GORGEOUS VITALITY and PLENTIFUL which shifted out slightly when being eased to allow SPEEDY FORTUNE to cross.
Horse No 11 YOO YOO KNIGHT (H053) K C Leung Bumped at the start.
Near the 150 Metres was eased and shifted to the inside of WIND SPEEDER to continue into clear running when WIND SPEEDER shifted in slightly.
Horse No 12 WIND SPEEDER (E281) K Teetan Jumped only fairly.
After the 600 Metres was bumped by DAY DAY VICTORY which shifted out.
Sent for sampling post-race.

Plentiful had a perfect trip in the box seat, moved to the lead 100m out and edged clear for a second win over the Valley 1,000m from his past four starts. Speedy Fortune found one too good after dictating the run from gate five. It was a better performance. Day Day Victory ran on well for third after peeling into the open near the 200m following a rails run from midfield. It was clearly his best run to date. Wind Speeder ran on reasonably well near the inside for fourth without threatening the top three travelling just off the fence from behind midfield. Yoo Yoo Knight made inroads late for fifth settling last from a tricky gate. It was an improved effort wearing cheek pieces with a return to the Valley at his second appearance this season following a stable change. Timestorm ran on without threatening after making his run two from the rear. He's more effective over a 1,200m trip. Firming late in betting, Gorgeous Vitality made some ground without menacing after a two-to-three wide run from behind midfield. Dan Attack faded after working hard three wide to eventually sit second 500m out from gate 11.
