Recap by phillip woo

Firming favourite King Alloy chased the leader Spicy Spangle on the fence from gate one before taking control 100m out for a first win at his 16th start. The win was overdue after placing in five of nine other starts this term. Spicy Spangle kept on gamely for second after leading from gate eight. He's close to a win after placing twice over the Valley 1,000m from his past three starts. Heroic Master finished nicely late near the inside to nearly grab second after a rails run from midfield. He should break through shortly in this grade. Majestic Delight ran on nicely through the centre for fourth after a wide trip with cover from better than midfield. He's better suited over 1,200m. Specked late Brilliant Fire stayed on well for fifth after sitting wide without cover near the front from gate 11. It was an improved effort at just his second time of asking over the Valley 1,800m. Taihang Scenery ran on without threatening after making his run three from the rear. Country Dancer only beat four runners travelling third last. Circuit Victory never featured after a wide trip towards the rear from gate nine.
