PHILIP WOO’S FORMLINE
Robot Star had flashed ability in his first two starts prior to a win from midfield over 1,400m before finding only Blazing Wukong too smart after facing the breeze three wide until the 900m after a prominent run over today's trip. He's since strode out nicely to place in a trial and must have claims. Flying Boom was in the mix in three of his first five starts up to 1,400m before narrowly coming out on top after hitting the front 100m out from behind midfield following a gear change when trying 1,600m. Glorious Success has trouble winning and gate 14 won't help but he is usually quiet reliable and was only beaten a short head by Flying Boom from behind midfield last start over this C&D. Forza Toro returns after lameness last month but has improved following a downgrade with a rallying third two runs ago over 1,400m before producing a box-seat third as the favourite over the Valley 1,650m.
TROUBLE IN RUNNING
ROBOT STAR (K559) shifted in at the start and was bumped - Race 400.
BUCEPHALAS (K096) rider stated that the instructions were to hold a handy position. He said from a wide barrier he was required to make use of the horse in the early stages to comply with his instructions and as a result his mount did not finish the race off after being placed under pressure in the Home Straight. After the race was examined by the vet who said an endoscopic exam showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Has since passed an official vet exam - Race 446.
FORZA TORO (K355) was withdrawn on the day before raceday by order of the Stewards on vet advice (lame right fore) . Has since passed an official vet exam - Race 446.
THE ABSOLUTE (H438) jumped only fairly and then was bumped. Rider reported that after settling back in the field his mount finished the race off only fairly. After the race was found to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported - Race 476.
GLORIOUS SUCCESS (K062) approaching the 250M had some difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted out. Over the concluding stages rider dropped his left rein for a number of strides - Race 446.
GRAND TURBO (L138) jumped awkwardly and lost ground - Race 460.
MULTISUPERSTAR (L163) jumped only fairly. Over the final 400M had difficulty obtaining clear running and as a result was not fully tested - Race 477.
CIRCUIT MARSHAL (K526) from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages - Race 450.
LUCKY SECRET (L073) jumped only fairly and shortly after the start became unbalanced when bumped by a runner - Race 495.
FIGHTING MACHINE (J015) bumped on jumping - Race 476.
MATSU VICTOR (H472) on jumping made contact with a runner. Rider stated that his mount, which was racing with a crossed nose band for the first time, appeared to resent this gear during the event. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 471.
WINNING DIAMOND (K216) bumped on jumping. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 471.
SPLENDID FORCE (K120) on jumping was crowded. Between the 300M and 200M rider had difficulty fully riding his mount out when his whip became entangled in his reins - Race 400.
