Background:
Age: 28. James Orman is an experienced rider from Gatton near Brisbane in Queensland, Australia. He dominated Brisbane's riding ranks in recent years by winning three consecutive championships before making his move to Hong Kong on a full-time basis. With more than 1,300 career wins, Orman has also ridden in the United Arab Emirates, where he achieved a five-timer at Jebel Ali in 2023. The Australian began his career as an apprentice to his mother, trainer Carol Allardyce. His father, Michael, was also a jockey. A former gymnast, Orman's 2022/23 championship success saw him partner 197 winners. He began his first riding stint in Hong Kong in February 2025 and quickly opened his local account with Charming Babe later that month. He performed consistently thereafter and closed out his rookie Hong Kong season with 13 wins.
