Background:
Age: 29. James Orman is an experienced rider from Gatton near Brisbane in Queensland, Australia. He dominated Brisbane's riding ranks in recent years, winning three consecutive championships before moving to Hong Kong on a full-time basis. With more than 1,360 career wins, Orman has also ridden in the United Arab Emirates, where he achieved a five-timer at Jebel Ali in 2023. The Australian began his career as an apprentice to his mother, trainer Carol Allardyce. His father, Michael, was also a jockey. A former gymnast, Orman partnered 197 winners during his 2022/23 championship-winning season. He began his first riding stint in Hong Kong in February 2025 and quickly opened his local account with Charming Babe later that month. He performed consistently thereafter and closed out his rookie Hong Kong season with 13 wins. He achieved 32 wins in 2025/26, his first full season in Hong Kong.
