An American Airlines regional jet with 60 passengers and four crew members on board collided on January 30, 2025, with a US Army helicopter while landing at Ronald Reagan National Airport near Washington. A large search-and-rescue operation is under way in the nearby Potomac River. There were reportedly multiple fatalities, but the precise number of victims was unclear as rescuers searched for survivors.
