Hong Kong and mainland China border reopening

What was it like travelling from Hong Kong to mainland China as the border reopened?

The border that divides Hong Kong and mainland China reopened on January 8, 2023, for the first time in 3 years. Travellers are now being allowed to cross freely without having to undergo quarantines after mainland authorities dropped the nation’s zero-Covid policy. A daily quota of 60,000 people is reserved for travellers crossing the border in each direction, and they must also have negative Covid tests done within 48 hours of departure. Post video producer Llewellyn Cheung documented his trip on the first day of the reopening, when he witnessed reunions of friends and families, as well as problems that still linger after the extended border closure.
