Thousands of Hongkongers gathered on both sides of Victoria Harbour for a traditional New Year’s Eve fireworks display. The 12-minute celebration to ring in 2025 featured fireworks as well as rooftop pyrotechnics from iconic buildings on Hong Kong Island. Titled “The
Symphony of Happiness”, the display was designed by Liu Lin, chief of the Fireworks Project who was also director of fireworks operations at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games opening and closing ceremonies.
