TROUBLE IN RUNNING

ROMANTIC SON (J537) prior to declaring weighed-in the Stewards gave consideration as to whether the horse had been denied a fair start. After taking evidence from Trainer, Rider and Starter the Stewards established that prior to the start being effected rider was unseated from the saddle when the horse became fractious in the starting gates which resulted in rider being dislodged from the horse as the start was effected. As the Stewards were satisfied that rider was not positioned at the saddle as the start was effected they determined the horse had been denied a fair start and as such was declared a non-runner. Has since performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial - Race 621.

VICTORY SKY (J540) jumped awkwardly - Race 572.

GALACTIC VOYAGE (K514) jumped only fairly. Passing the 100M was shifted out to continue into clear running - Race 604.

AURORA PATCH (K097) shifted out at the start and was bumped - Race 621.

CITY GOLD BANNER (L155) kicked a rail leaving the Parade Ring, was examined by the vet and passed suitable to race. Rider stated that after improving into the event on the Home Turn his mount finished the race off only fairly in the Home Straight. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 537.

BLAZING WIND (J157) was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on vet advice (substantial amount of mucus in trachea on scoping) . Has since passed an official vet exam - Race 621.

SUPER JOY N FUN (J164) from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages - Race 593.

GIANT SPIRIT (L169) reared up in the barriers, got its left front leg caught over the front of the barrier for a short period of time and was withdrawn by order of the Stewards acting on vet advice. Has since performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and passed an official vet exam - Race 572.

MR ENERGIA (J239) jumped only fairly. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages - Race 621.

VICTOR THE WINNER (G404) rider stated that the instructions were to obtain an on-pace position with cover. He said when his mount jumped well he elected to go forward and lead to take advantage of the good start - Race 604.
