TROUBLE IN RUNNING

PACKING POWER (J284) near the 300M became unbalanced when improving into a narrow run. Then made contact with a runner and then lay in for the remainder of the Home Straight and proved difficult to ride out. After the race an endoscopic exam was conducted at trainer's request and that exam showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Has since passed an official vet exam - Race 396.

CHATEAUNEUF (J219) the Stewards inquired into an incident making the Home Turn where the horse shifted to the outside of a runner and made contact with another runner for some distance thereafter. After considering all the evidence, the Stewards determined that rider of the horse, was entitled to improve to the outside of a runner and as he did so the horse and another runner made contact which then resulted in that runner shifting in and crowding the running of the horse shortly after. The horse then raced in restricted room between those runners between the 300M and the 100M where it was steadied when crowded. Over the concluding stages was then not able to be ridden to the finish when placed close to the heels of a runner - Race 503.

KA YING VICTORY (H287) on jumping made contact with the right side of its barrier, blundered and lost ground. When placed under pressure in the Home Straight raced greenly and over the concluding stages lay in when being in to secure clear running. After the race was examined by the vet who said an endoscopic exam showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Has since passed an official vet exam - Race 323.

BEAUTY CRESCENT (H334) jumped awkwardly, shifted in and made contact with a runner. After the event, rider stated that his mount raced keenly throughout the early and middle stages and as a result did not run on when placed under pressure in the Home Straight. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 514.

CROSSBORDERPEGASUS (K008) when placed under pressure over the final 250M lay in, resulting in its rider having to correct his mount on a number of occasions - Race 508.

SUNNY DA BEST (J118) after the event, rider stated that his mount jumped only fairly and despite riding it along was unable to take up a more forward position. He said his mount did not travel well throughout the event and responded only fairly when placed under pressure in the Home Straight which he attributed to the racing surface in his opinion being loose due to the race being run in light rain. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 482.

CALL ME GORGEOUS (K091) from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 300M was taken wider - Race 493.

SAL (K267) shifted out at the start and made contact with a runner. Leaving the 600M shifted out and away from a runner and was steadied to avoid another runner - Race 516.
