PHILIP WOO’S FORMLINE
Bienvenue returned from a nosebleed to fill the frame in back-to-back Valley 1,200m runs, including a rallying second behind Outgate from gate 11, before returning with blood in his trachea after a flat sixth as the favourite. He can rebound with a big run despite gate 10. Amazing Kid won despite a tough run on a wet track two runs ago for a fourth success from five consecutive C&D runs before staying on a close third to My Day My Way after a wide trip. He's in good order but will again get no favours from gate 12. Sports Legend wasn't himself when striking a wet track last start but was a winner from midfield and second after tracking the pace from three prior Valley 1,200m runs. Don't sell him short. Straight To Glory relished a switch to the Valley 1,200m for back-to-back wins before building on a one-out, one-back sixth at this level with an identically ridden second to Aurio. He will go close.
TROUBLE IN RUNNING
SYMBOL OF STRENGTH (K352) shortly after the start was bumped. Over the concluding stages could not be fully ridden out when racing in restricted room - Race 553.
LUCKY PLANET (H235) rider reported that his mount was able to lead the event but failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 533.
SPORTS LEGEND (H456) rider could offer no excuse for his mount's disappointing performance. Trainer advised he had been pleased with the horse leading into the race but could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings. Performance was considered disappointing comparing to its previous race starts. Has since performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and passed an official vet exam - Race 491.
AMAZING KID (K434) shifted out at the start and was bumped. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event - Race 553.
BIENVENUE (J490) shortly after the start made contact with a runner. Rider stated that his mount finished the race off only fairly in the Home Straight and, in his opinion, was reluctant to race in amongst other horses. After the race was examined by the vet who said an endoscopic exam showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Has since passed an official vet exam - Race 510.
MATTERS MOST (K154) crowded shortly after the start - Race 533.
FIERY STEED (K575) jumped only fairly and shortly after the start bumped heavily with a runner. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings. The next day was reported to be lame in its right front leg. Has since passed an official vet exam - Race 331.
PRESTIGE WIN (L248) shortly after the start shifted in despite the efforts of its rider, made contact with a runner and as a result became unbalanced. When commencing to give ground near the 100M was eased when racing in restricted room - Race 537.
SOMELOVEFROMABOVE (J503) near the 350M made contact with a runner - Race 511.
WONDERSTAR (J531) near the 300M was eased and shifted in to continue into clear running. Rider stated that as the start was effected her mount sat back in the starting gate and as a consequence jumped awkwardly and lost ground. She said that resulted in her mount settling further back in the field than intended - Race 579.
DOUBLE MONEY (K512) from the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages - Race 563.
