PHILIP WOO’S FORMLINE
Turin Warrior was a well-timed winner from midfield carrying 124lb at his second C&D run this term before running on for third and sixth last start carrying 4lb more at his next three outings. The eight-year-old should give his all from gate one at likely double digits. Take Action is a winner waiting to happen after charging late for second in his past two Valley starts over a mile and 1,800m. Noble Pursuit has put the writing on the wall at his past three C&D runs in this grade, including a closing neck second to Inno Super last start under today's stable apprentice Ellis Wong Chi-wang, but will need to give them a headstart from gate 12. California Moxie enjoyed a clean trip for an easy win over his favourite Valley 1,650m in January before backing up a rallying third to Stormi - who's since won again - with a non-threatening seventh after a slow start. He cannot be ignored.
TROUBLE IN RUNNING
AESTHETICISM (H289) from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 700M was bumped and as a result was steadied. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 409.
CALIFORNIA MOXIE (J131) kicked a rail whilst proceeding to the starting gates, was examined by the vet and passed suitable to race. Jumped awkwardly, shifted out, made contact with a runner and lost ground. In the middle stages raced keenly and near the 700M shifted out and made contact with a runner - Race 409.
NOBLE PURSUIT (H324) after passing the 500M was crowded for room - Race 427.
GLORIOUS JOURNEY (J137) from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 150M shifted out to obtain clear running and made slight contact with a runner - Race 409.
SHANGHAI STYLE (J093) raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event - Race 371.
TURIN WARRIOR (G150) shifted out at the start and bumped a runner. Bumped near the 150M - Race 409.
NORTHERN BEAST (H233) rider reported that it was not his intention to lead but due to the lack of early speed he was left with no option - Race 427.
TAKE ACTION (J098) from the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 200M was struck across the head by the whip of another rider. Had difficulty obtaining clear running between the 200M and the 150M. Near the 150M made contact with a runner when being shifted out to obtain clear running - Race 408.
LEGENDARY IMPACT (K035) raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event - Race 405.
FORTUNE STAR (K003) making the first turn near the 1400M was steadied when briefly crowded - Race 471.
TRACKWORK HIGHLIGHT
Take Action was given a stretch out in his latest trial and should be cherry ripe for this.
