Racing Incident Report
Race Seven : (293) - SATURN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters
Horse No 2 HAPPY UNIVERSE (J533) A Hamelin From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 3 PRINCE ALEX (G307) H Bentley After the event, H Bentley stated that his mount enjoyed a comfortable run during the race but finished the race off only fairly in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 SMART CITY (J213) Z Purton After the event, Z Purton stated that the instructions were to hold an on-pace position.
He said when caught wide in the early stages he was obliged to continue forward to avoid racing wide.
He said as a result of this SMART CITY was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 CORLEONE (J426) H Bowman For some distance approaching the 300 Metres was held up for clear running.
Horse No 6 EMBRACES (J276) C L Chau For some distance near the 700 Metres raced keenly and leaving the 700 Metres was steadied away from UNITED ENDEAVORS.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 TEAM HAPPY (J218) A Pouchin Bumped on jumping.
Horse No 8 FASHION LEGEND (J080) A Atzeni From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 9 WAH MAY WAI WAI (J193) Y L Chung Bumped on jumping.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 10 TAKE ACTION (J098) B Avdulla Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
Approaching the 1400 Metres raced tight to the inside of HAPPY UNIVERSE before that runner was corrected by its rider.
Passing the 1300 Metres was steadied to avoid EMBRACES.
For some distance approaching the 700 Metres raced keenly and after being steadied away from HAPPY UNIVERSE near the 700 Metres commenced a forward move thereafter where it raced very wide and without cover.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 11 ISLAND GOLDEN (H018) M F Poon Jumped only fairly and then raced tight between HAPPY UNIVERSE and SMART CITY which shifted out slightly.
In the early stages, when caught wide, was allowed to stride forward where it obtained a position outside the leaders, however, ISLAND GOLDEN was obliged to race wide and without cover thereafter.
For some distance approaching the 300 Metres raced tight between TAKE ACTION and TEAM HAPPY (A Pouchin) which shifted to the outside of SMART CITY.
A Pouchin was advised to exercise more care.
Horse No 12 UNITED ENDEAVORS (G030) M L Yeung A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Embraces came from last at the 400m and with one wider out upon straightening to win going away 100m out under a new trainer. Wah May Wai Wai wouldn't go down without a fight after dictating the run from gate six. He proved a fourth at $64 last start was not a fluke. Favourite Take Action sustained his run from near last at the 550m out following a tardy start to place third. He's mixing his form but did win two runs ago. Corleone stayed on well for fourth after getting caught wide at times without cover from just off midfield. He can bob up at any moment after filling the frame in three of four starts. Prince Alex made a steady bid without ever looking a winning chance after a rail run from midfield. It was an OK effort carrying six pounds more. Big Red had his chance after a box-seat run but came up flat over the last 100m. He was only having his second run since a ligament injury. Specked late, Fashion Legend ran on without threatening from towards the rear. The return to the Valley 1,650m backfired after a pair of positive efforts over 1,400m.
