A US Army veteran suspected of driving a pickup truck through a crowd in New Orleans on January 1, 2025, was carrying the Islamic State flag, according to authorities. The truck rampage killed 15 people and injured over 30 before the suspect was shot dead by police. The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is treating the attack in the state of Louisiana as a terrorist act and says it does not believe the driver acted alone. US President Joe Biden said authorities were investigating if the incident was linked to an explosion of a Tesla Cybertruck outside the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas.
