US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth has reaffirmed Washington’s commitment to its alliance with Japan. While visiting Tokyo on March 30, 2025, he specifically called out China, saying the US and Japan will stand firm “in the face of aggression and coercive actions by the Communist Chinese.”
