Search and rescue operations were under way on June 18, 2023, to locate a tour submersible that was missing off Canadian and US waters more than a day after it was last seen descending towards the wreckage of the Titanic. The vessel was carrying one pilot and four passengers, reportedly including British billionaire Hamish Harding. The sub’s operators on the surface said they lost contact about 1 hour and 45 minutes after the sub started diving beneath the surface of the Atlantic Ocean.
