One week after deadly earthquakes wreaked havoc in Turkey and Syria, rescuers were still pulling survivors alive from under the rubble, despite the death toll from the tragedy surpassing 33,000 as of the morning of February 13, 2023. With the number of dead expected to rise in the coming days, authorities are also preparing sites for mass burials.
