2023 Turkey-Syria earthquake

More deadly earthquakes rock Turkey-Syria border region hit by recent quake disaster

At least three people were confirmed dead in Turkey near its border with Syria as of late February 20, 2023, hours after more earthquakes and aftershocks rocked the region already devastated by quakes on February 6. Turkey’s disaster response agency said a magnitude 6.4 earthquake and a smaller one only minutes later were centred near the southern Turkish city of Antakya. The latest tremors were also felt in Syria, Egypt and Lebanon. The border region is struggling to respond to the previous quakes that claimed at least 47,000 lives.
