California reels from second mass shooting in three days with 7 dead

Tragedy struck California again as a second mass shooting in the state in days left at least 7 dead. The latest killings occurred at two separate locations in the city of Half Moon Bay, on the afternoon of January 23. Police detained the suspect - 67-year-old Chunli Zhao - after he turned himself in just hours later. The tragedy comes less than 48 hours after a similar shooting left 11 dead in Monterey Park during a Lunar New Year celebration. At least 38 mass shootings have occurred in the United States so far this year.
