At least 14 students and one teacher were killed in a shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, a small town west of San Antonio, on May 24, 2022, Governor Greg Abbott told a news conference. The assailant was an 18-year-old who entered the school with a handgun and possibly a rifle, Abbott said. He added that the gunman was apparently killed by police.
