California church shooting motivated by hate against Taiwanese, police say

The gunman of a deadly attack at a California church on May 15, 2022, was an immigrant from mainland China motivated by hatred for Taiwanese people, police said.

The shooting in Laguna Woods killed Dr John Cheng, 52, and wounded five others, authorities said at a news conference on May 16.
