Chinese-Americans in New York City gather to show solidarity with war-torn Ukraine

Dozens of Chinese-Americans in New York City gathered to show solidarity with the Ukrainian people at an Orthodox cathedral near Manhattan’s Chinatown on March 10, 2022. One of the organisers, Karlin Chan, said if Chinese people in New York want others to stand with them on certain issues, they need to stand with other communities. “We need to show that Chinese don’t only care about Chinese matters,” Chan said regarding Ukraine’s fight against a Russian invasion. “At the end of the day, we can't stick our heads in the sand like an ostrich.”
