Captive Ukrainian women swapped in prisoner exchange with Russia

Ukraine exchanged 110 Russian prisoners for 108 Ukrainian captives held by Russia on October 17, 2022, according to officials on both sides. It is believed to be the first all-female exchange between Kyiv and Moscow after nearly eight months of war and one of the biggest swaps so far. Ukrainian authorities said 37 of the women were captured after Russian forces took over the Azovstal steel plant in May.
