Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant inspected by UN body despite shelling

A team of experts from the UN’s International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspected a nuclear power plant in southern Ukraine on September 1, 2022. The Zaporizhzhia atomic plant complex, Europe’s largest, is located in the Russian-held territory of Enerhodar, controlled by Russian troops and operated by Ukrainian staff. Kyiv and Moscow have blamed each other for the frequent shelling in the vicinity.
