Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky released a video on January 12, 2025, purportedly showing two North Korean soldiers captured in Russia’s Kursk region. The two injured men reportedly said they were not aware they were fighting against Ukraine, and one expressed a desire to stay in the country. Zelensky said he was ready to exchange the North Korean prisoners for Ukrainians being held captive in Russia.
