New York diner becomes focal point for people to show solidarity with Ukraine

A Ukrainian diner in New York City, has become a focal point for people to show solidarity with Ukraine. Since the Russian invasion on February 24, 2022, the restaurant Veselka has seen business jump after it started a fundraiser for relief efforts. The restaurant’s owner, Jason Birchard, said he has raised more than US$25,000 from the sales of borscht to help Ukrainians displaced by the conflict.
