London’s Tower Bridge jammed for second time in a year

Mechanical  problems caused London’s landmark Tower Bridge to become stuck in an open position on August 9, 2021. The glitch led to a traffic jam along the Thames River, with cars and pedestrians unable to cross. The Tower Bridge resumed normal operations nearly 12 hours later. It’s the second time the bridge encountered mechanical failure. A similar incident happened nearly a year ago, resulting in Tower Bridge’s closure for more than 24 hours.
