British fashion icon Vivienne Westwood dies at the age of 81

British fashion designer Vivienne Westwood passed away on December 29, 2022 at the age of 81. Westwood made a name for herself in the 1970s when she styled the punk rock band, the Sex Pistols. The Westwood brand flourished in the 1990s, and the British designer was awarded the Order of the British Empire medal in 1992. She was also outspoken politically, voicing her views regularly on issues including climate change, pollution and social justice and showcasing protest T-shirts, banners and even underwear in her catwalk shows.
