Ukraine’s Zelensky presses UK and France for fighter jets on Europe trip

On a trip to the UK and France on February 8, 2023, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked Kyiv’s allies for their military support as he appealed for both nations to contribute fighter jets to fight Russian invasion forces. Although the UK announced it would expand its training effort for Ukrainian troops to include sophisticated Western fighter jets, Kyiv’s allies have so far stopped short of a commitment to suppling the embattled nation with aircraft.
