China recalls 6 consulate officials from UK over Manchester protester incident

Beijing removed six consulate officials, including Consul General Zheng Xiyuan, from the UK, British Foreign Minister James Cleverly announced on December 14, 2022. Greater Manchester Police had wanted to question the diplomats over a confrontation with a protester outside the Chinese consulate in Manchester, and had given them a deadline of December 14 to waive their diplomatic immunity.
