US, India urge Taliban to uphold peace in Afghanistan, as they pledge Quad cooperation on vaccines

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar in New Delhi on July 28, 2021, the same day that China hosted a delegation representing the Taliban movement which has been fighting government and  coalition forces in Afghanistan. Blinken was making his first visit to India since he joined  US President Joe Biden's administration. The US top diplomat and his Indian counterpart said they discussed the security situation in Afghanistan, as well as supplies of Covid-19 vaccines and India's human rights record.
