Chinese Vice-President Han Zheng has urged less developed countries to join Beijing in resisting Western values and the US-led geopolitical framework in place since the second world war. In his speech before the United Nations General Assembly on September 21, 2023, Han Zheng said that China is against a single power having economic, political and social dominance in the world. Without mentioning the US by name, he said the moves have harmed world peace. The Vice-President, who attended the annual diplomatic gathering in place of Chinese President Xi Jinping, also reiterated China’s position on the Taiwan issue.
