Chinese ‘overseas service stations’ under scrutiny after claims they are illegal police stations

Dutch police are investigating reports by a Spanish rights group that Chinese police centres are operating illegally in the Netherlands, using them as a base to intimidate critics of Beijing. But speaking to journalists on October 27, 2022, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning described the facilities as overseas centres offering consular and administrative assistance for Chinese nationals.
