China aims for closer cooperation with Finland on new energy sectors, President Xi Jinping told his Finnish counterpart Alexander Stubb in Beijing on October 29, 2024. It is the first visit to China by a Finnish leader in five years. During the meeting, Stubbs said talks also focused on the war in Ukraine. Chinese state media reported Xi saying that Beijing would “continue to play an active role in promoting a peaceful resolution of the crisis”.
