US President Joe Biden said funding for the Aukus nuclear-powered submarine deal will “get done” despite congressional hesitation. Biden was speaking with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese who was visiting Washington. Australia had agreed to buy nuclear-powered submarines from the US under a deal expected to cost up to US$245 billion, as part of its Aukus trilateral security partnership with the US and Britain.
