New Zealand charity apologises for distributing methamphetamine-laced candies

A New Zealand charity apologised on August 14, 2024, for distributing candies that contained a potentially lethal dose of methamphetamine. The charity said it was not aware of the problem until some recipients complained of the foul-tasting sweets. At least three people have sought medical treatment.
