Deadly floods set to continue in New Zealand as Auckland residents pick up the pieces

As residents of flood-ravaged Auckland attempt to pick through what was left of their homes, New Zealand officials warned them to brace for another onslaught of rain. Four people have lost their lives amid days of record downpours in the country’s biggest city. Prime Minister Chris Hipkins has blamed the extreme weather on climate change, and has welcomed help from neighbouring Australia. A state of emergency is still in place in Auckland and Northland, the country’s northernmost region.
