The former bodyguard of ex-prime minister Najib Razak has been freed in Australia after being detained there for nine years. Sirul Azhar Umar and another police officer were convicted of the murder of a Mongolian translator and sentenced to death in 2009. He subsequently fled the country and was arrested on an Interpol notice in Australia in 2015.
