Malaysia has evicted over 500 sea nomads from their homes as part of a crackdown on undocumented migrants. Footage released on June 4, 2024, showed authorities burning down and demolishing houses belonging to the Bajau Laut people, who for centuries have lived on wooden houseboats or huts off the island of Borneo and coastal areas in the southern Philippines.
